Terms of Service
In short: Timed Boxfights is a free, fan-run community for ranked Fortnite boxfights. Play fair, be respectful, follow Discord's and Epic Games' rules, and accept that staff decisions on matches, ratings and prizes are final. The service is provided as is.
1. Who we are and what this covers
"Timed Boxfights", "we" and "us" mean the community that runs the Timed Boxfights Discord server, the Timed Boxfights Discord bot (the "Bot"), the website at timedboxfights.com (the "Site") and our Fortnite Creative islands (together, the "Service"). By joining our server, using the Bot or logging in to the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Not affiliated with Epic Games or Discord
Timed Boxfights is an independent community project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Epic Games, Inc. or Discord Inc. Fortnite is a trademark of Epic Games, Inc. Discord is a trademark of Discord Inc.
3. Who can use the Service
- You must be old enough to use Discord in your country (at least 13, or older where local law requires) and allowed to play Fortnite under Epic Games' rules.
- You must follow the Discord Terms of Service, the Discord Community Guidelines and the Epic Games Terms of Service, including Fortnite's rules for creative islands.
- One Discord account and one Epic account per person. Ranked play requires linking your Epic account through our verification step.
4. Ranked play, ratings and results
- Matches are created by our queue and played on our Fortnite islands. Both sides report the score; a result is final when the opponent confirms it, when the opponent doesn't answer in time, or when staff decide it.
- Ratings, ranks, leaderboards and in-game stats have no monetary value and can't be sold, traded or transferred. We may adjust, reset or remove ratings, results or stats to fix errors, undo cheating, or start a new season.
- When you submit a result or a stats screenshot, you confirm it is real and unedited.
5. Rules of conduct
You agree not to:
- cheat, use exploits, macros or third-party cheat software, or play on someone else's account;
- boost, win-trade, throw matches, collude, or use alternate accounts to manipulate ratings, giveaways or tournaments;
- submit false results or fake or edited screenshots;
- harass, threaten, or use slurs or hateful language toward anyone;
- spam, advertise, or post links outside the channels where links are allowed;
- attack, overload, scrape or try to break the Bot or the Site, or access accounts or data that aren't yours.
6. Moderation and enforcement
Our automatic moderation and our staff can remove messages, give warnings, mute (time out) members, reverse match results, adjust ratings, disqualify you from tournaments or giveaways, and suspend you from ranked play, for any breach of these Terms or our server rules. Server bans are handled by server administrators. You can ask staff to review a decision by messaging the Bot; staff decisions after review are final.
7. Tournaments and giveaways
- Entry is free. No purchase or payment is ever required to enter or win.
- Each event may have its own requirements (for example a minimum number of ranked matches, a minimum rank, or being a Recruiter by inviting friends). Entries that don't meet them, or that break these Terms, are void.
- Giveaway winners are drawn at random, weighted by the tickets shown in the giveaway. Winners must claim their prize within the time shown, or a new winner may be drawn.
- Prizes are provided by Timed Boxfights, not by Epic Games or Discord. We deliver prizes through Discord and may need information from you to do so (for example where to send a gift). Prizes can't be exchanged for cash, and we may substitute a prize of similar value if one becomes unavailable.
- We may change, postpone or cancel any tournament or giveaway, for example if it can't run fairly. Events are void where prohibited by law, and you are responsible for any taxes on prizes.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post (messages, clips, screenshots). You give us permission to store, display and use it to run the Service, for example showing your name and results on leaderboards and brackets, or reviewing evidence in a dispute. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.
9. Website login
"Log in with Discord" uses Discord's official login. When you log in, you allow the Bot to read your basic Discord profile and to add you to the Timed Boxfights server if you aren't in it yet. You can remove the Site's access at any time in Discord under User Settings → Authorized Apps.
10. Availability and changes to the Service
The Service is free and run by volunteers. We may change, pause or stop any part of it at any time, and we don't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or that data will never be lost.
11. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Timed Boxfights and its staff are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, ratings, items or prizes, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under laws that can't be waived.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time by leaving the server and removing the Site in Discord's Authorized Apps. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms. To have your data deleted, see our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We'll change the date at the top and announce important changes in our Discord server. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new Terms.
15. Contact
Questions about these Terms? send a direct message to the Timed Boxfights bot on Discord (this opens a private ticket with staff), or ask in our Discord server at discord.gg/fcaRzffmmQ.
